UiA Doc General Assembly - 14 April 2021

UiA Doc conducted its 3rd General Assembly on 14th of April 2021 where PhDs and postdocs from UiA elected their new board members. The meeting was held on Zoom due to the pandemic


If you missed the GA here is a summary of the meeting.


  • Sinziana and Alexander welcomed everyone to the GA, which was followed by a short address from the Rector Sunniva Whittaker, Øyvind Nystøl, Malin S. Hauge, Seunn Smith Tønnessen, and Alisha Jane Mahtani Williams.


  • Hossein presented the events and activities conducted by the board in the term 2020-2021. UiA Doc has conducted panel discussions highlighting important topics relevant to temporary employees in the previous year along with social gatherings for engagement among employees.


  • Alexander presented the budget report for the year 2020-2021 which was approved by the members in UiA Doc; this was followed by voting of the activities budget for 2021-2022.


  • Sinziana presented the report on Covid extensions for temporary employees. This was followed by a discussion on the amendments to the statutes which was also voted by the attending members of the UiA Doc.


  • The last part of the meeting was dedicated to the election of new board members; the following candidates were elected to the board.

  1. Henrik Siepelmeyer: President - 1 year position

  2. Saishashank Balaji: Treasurer - 2 years position

  3. Saga Pardede: Events and Activities Coordinator - 1 year position

  4. Juan Diego Cardenas Cartagena: Academic and Skills Development Coordinator - 1 year position

  5. Gulshan Noorsumar: Communication and Marketing Coordinator - 1 year position

  • Mareike Brehmer will continue in her role as Secretary to the board from 2020 - 2022.


The new Board Members and UiA Doc members would like to acknowledge the efforts put in by the outgoing members of the board in the previous year and thank them for their hard work during the pandemic year. We wish them All the Best for their future.
